A conversation with Thomas Coselli
We recently had a chance to sit down and chat with Houston Real Estate Agent Thomas Coselli.
Q: It’s an honor to speak with you today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Thomas Coselli, Im a native Houstonian and I have been in real estate since 2014
Q: Why did you decide to follow a career in real estate?
For me it’s always been about the freedom. Yes you have to grind and be self sufficient but when the flip side of that is getting to be your own boss with the ability to control your own schedule its an easy decision for me. I also find guiding people through their real estate journey very rewarding.
Q: As a real estate professional, what is one of the challenges you face in the industry? How do you overcome them?
A major challenge all real estate professionals face (whether they realize it or not) is efficient content creation and being effective on social media. Once you reach a certain level you 100% need to outsource it.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your day-to-day job?
Like I said earlier the freedom that comes once you are established in this business is very enjoyable, but even in the long hard days there is a social aspect to it that I really love. Meeting new people from all different backgrounds with an infinite combination of needs keeps things interesting as well.
Q: Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
For quite some time I have specialized in apartment leasing which can be very lucrative depending on where you live. Houston is one of the best (if not the best) places to do that. As my business has grown many of my clients have turned into buyers and sellers so that has become a large part of my work as well.
Q: What career goals do you have for the next five years? What’s next for you?
I am building a team right now, as well as handling my own clients so that is my main focus at the moment. Properly growing a team and mentoring other agents takes a great deal of time and effort, and encouraging the right culture is harder still. That is my priority over the next few years.
Q: What’s a myth about real estate?
People say you need to be aggressive and a born sales person to be successful in real estate. Thats just not true. Ive seen introverts, extroverts, and everyone in between succeed with the right mentality and the proper mentorship. What it takes is being coachable. How well can you reproduce the strategies that you are taught until you can add your own style? Once you hit that point then innovation becomes the key.
Q: Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more.
Instagram is the easiest place to connect with me @tom_coselli. I currently hiring agents in the Houston area so shoot me a message and let’s talk!
