We recently had a chance to sit down and chat with Boise Real Estate Agent Laurel Hamblin.
Laurel Hamblin is one of the youngest top-producing agents in the Boise market. She is a significant role model to many individuals within her community. She has been serving her clients with their real estate needs for the past 4 years. She has an immense passion for real estate, the business world and service work within her community. Laurel is the second oldest of 6 kids. She has an adorable toddler named Leo that keeps her on her toes. Laurel strives to go above and beyond in every area of her life and add value to everyone that she comes in contact with.
Q: Why did you decide to follow a career in real estate?
Laurel was introduced into the real estate world by her uncle who is a current real estate coach. “Due to having Leo at an early age, I wanted to jump start my life and head straight into a career that I could pour my time and skillset into. As an independent parent, it was my sole responsibility to give my son the best life I possibly could. 14 test attempts later, I was well on my way. Nothing has stepped in the way of my successes. I feel extremely grateful for the support from my sphere.”
Q: As a real estate professional, what is one of the challenges you face in the industry? How do you overcome them?
The biggest challenge I feel that my business faces with a young sphere are frequent shifts within the market, Learning how to stay on top of current market trends while representing a young sphere which many were priced out for quite some time. With the recent market shift, and rising inventory, I am grateful for the opportunity that buyers now have the room to negotiate terms that are in their best interest. It’s an exciting time to be a first time home buyer.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your day-to-day job?
One of my favorite things about being a real estate agent is that every day is so different. From showing homes, to drafting contracts, meeting with new clients, and the daily disciple that you build to become a successful individual is priceless. Selling real estate is a lifestyle. It takes an incredible amount of endurance to build and maintain a successful real estate company. High level of relationships are key and the center of a relators business. I love to overcome challenges, solve problems and be a resource to my sphere as they start their real estate investing.
Q: Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
A day in the life for me consists of going to my office every morning to respond to daily emails, texts and calls. Schedule any showings or draft up any contracts that need to be taken care of. I typically reserve my afternoons for lunch meetings with clients or available time slots to view homes. I grab my son from preschool everyday at 5:00 pm and we head to the gym together. Shortly after that it’s dinner and following is bed time. The power of consistency has played a tremendous role within my business.
Q: What career goals do you have for the next five years? What’s next for you?
Over the course of the next 5 years, I will achieve the goal of making it on Forbes 30 under 30. Being so driven in my early 20’s, I know that this will be an attainable goal. I plan to run a small and powerful group of real estate agents. I will be a guest speaker to many Univers and be a resource to teach young adults how to invest in real estate. My son will be 9 years old and a rock star in sports. I will be married to the love of my life and we will both be crushing it at life. I plan to own 2 multi-family units. I look forward to these next 5 years!
Q: What’s a myth about real estate?
A common myth about real estate is that it is easy and quick money. There is a reason why 90% of real estate agents don’t make it past their first year in business. Often, many people give up too quickly. Everything worth having takes lot’s of hard work and time.
Q: Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more.
