A conversation with Daniela Pagani
We recently had a chance to sit down and chat with Chicago Real Estate Agent Daniela Pagani.
Q: It’s an honor to speak with you today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Daniela Pagani. Of course you knew that. I grew up in between Mexico City and Houston, TX but eventually moved back to the US for college. My passion was always to pursue a career in medicine and while medicine continues to influence my life (I am married to a doctor), I have come to realize that my life’s calling was to help people potentially not with their health but with the purchase of their haven which can profoundly influence their health.
Q: Why did you decide to follow a career in real estate?
While I do have a career in healthcare, it was the lifestyle I shared with my husband that prompted me to pursue real estate. As you know, physicians are often forced to relocate during their residency and fellowship. Constantly having to move planted the seed in me to help families experiencing similar situations. My family is also in shipping and relocation so it seemed like a natural career progression for me.
Q: As a real estate professional, what is one of the challenges you face in the industry? How do you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges we are facing as professionals that is also impacting buyers is the shortage of inventory. This in turn is creating a very competitive market for buyers. 1. One of the ways I try to solve this as an agent is creating opportunity for new listings. Contacting other agents about upcoming homes they may be getting ready to list and even keeping in touch with my database about their future plans. 2. On the buyers side, I think it’s extremely important that buyers realize that they can only control how they choose to act in this current market and that they have to ready to act quickly. As an agent, I like to build good rapport with cooperating agents to understand what their sellers are looking for. Understanding this allows me to set my buyers up for success in a multiple offer situation and a highly competitive market.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your day-to-day job?
Always the wonderful relationships I get to make on a daily basis. From clients to cooperating agents, to other professionals (attorneys, lenders, painters, designers, general contractors, stagers, etc). There is always something new to be learned and someone who will play a key part in your business!
Q: Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I see it as a 360° approach to helping my clients create the lifestyle of their dreams. I take pride in delivering singular experiences explicitly tailored to the individual needs of my clients while maintaining unprecedented focus on hard work and attention to detail.
Q: What career goals do you have for the next five years? What’s next for you?
While I do have long terms goals, I have found that setting short term goals (every three months) has been more realistic for me especially after all the uncertainty we faced with the pandemic. For now, I am focused on growing my team with the hopes of encouraging many to follow their passion helping others find their place in the world.
Q: What’s a myth about real estate?
I quickly learned that real estate is not very as flexible as it is made out to be. Yes you can choose to set your work schedule and you may have the opportunity to take the morning off to volunteer say at your child’s school or attend their field trip BUT you are also working most weekends and evenings.
Q: Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more.
